Summary of Case

"On 8 Feb, 2021 ARY News channel’s cameraman Jahangir Baloch was attacked by protesting lawyers who were angered by Capital Development Authority demolishing chambers in G8 Markaz in Islamabad.

Baloch was covering the lawyers attack on the Islamabad High Court and later harassed its Chief Justice Athar Minallah. While a case of attack on chief justice office was registered the attack on journalist was also mentioned in the same police report.

Speaking to PPF Mr. Jahangir Aslam Baloch told that He was in Islamabad High Court room No 2. when a group of lawyers came their and attacked on Chief Justice’s office as he started making footage of them, one of the lawyer named Sajjad attacked him and said to stop making footage. Following him, other lawyers also attacked him. His ear got seriously injured.

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) formed JIT for investigation of the incident, also included journalist's case in it. Commissioner Office also formed a committee to investigate the case. Sajid Baloch and other lawyers continuously pressurizing me to withdraw his case, but he wants fair investigation, Jahangir told PPF.

Investigation officer Mr. Jabbar told PPF that investigation is under process, accused cannot be arrested till date.

On 24th Jan, 2022, Jahangir Aslam Baloch told PPF that no one is arrested till date as whenever he goes Islamabad High Court he saw accused Sajid Baloch moving freely."
