Summary of Case

On Dec 4, 2020, Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) suspended the license of M/s Labbaik (Pvt.) Ltd “ Bol News” on account of continuous failure to pay fines.

On Dec 11, 2020, the Honorable Sindh High Court restored license conferred to the company. Sindh high Court (SHC) has further directed “BOL News” to pay off fines amounting to Rs. 4.7 million within two weeks.

The court has also directed “Bol News” to provide records vis-à-vis payment of fines (if any) and copies of restraining orders issued by any of the court of law to PEMRA for purpose of reconciliation within two weeks, as well.
