Summary of Case

On 25 Feb, 2021 Geo News channel’s cameraman Sheraz Gardezi received verbal threats for highlighting delay in road construction in Bagh, Azad Kashmir, through his social media account.

The concerned officials threatened the journalist for his act.

On Mar 15, 2021 Speaking to PPF Sheraz Gardezi said that He reported about the indifferences faced by the people of Bagh’s undeveloped area. When the construction work at the most busy road of Bagh started, people from neighbor village with the support of Zaheer Gardezi came and started strife,

Azad Kashmir’s DG Local Government Zaheer Gardezi became an obstacle in the way of building only one kilometer road for the people to access basic amenities.

Zaheer Gardezi threatened Sheraz when Zaheer comes to know that journalist have proper footage and evidences.

Sheraz did not filed any FIR against the official and self censored his news story.
