Summary of Case
"On July 01, Kakkar Press Club in Dadu district in the Sindh province was attacked by 8-10 armed men who came and fired on the press club, damaging the furniture and tearing a panaflex. As per the FIR, they closed the door of the press club for posting about landgrabbing in Kakar on social media. A FIR no 34/2024 was registered under sections 4/5, 506/2, 147, 149, 427, 148, and 504 PPC in Thana Kakkar, Dadu district. As per FIR, Muhammad Riaz, the complainant and a member of the press club, stated that he posted about land grabber Rashid Jamali on social media. Jamali got angry about that and rushed to the press club on July 1 and said that he had posted news against him. ""I will make a loss of you. And he entered with 8 to 10 people and pointed a gun at Abdul Razzaq."" They passed through the second gate of the press club. Muhammad Riaz, the complainant of FIR and member of Kakkar Press Club, told PPF that they had posted about the Jamali group in the area who are land grabbers, so they have been threatening them for a long time not to post anything about them. Then Jamali attacked the press club with 8-10 people. Riaz said that they didn't fire but threatened to kill them if they continued to do this [post on social media]. Riaz further said that they had attacked the, two days ago again (on July 9) and they went to the police station, but SHO didn’t lodge their complaint. SHO Imtiaz Shah told PPF that they had investigated the matter and the accused Rashid Jamali is now on pre-arrest bail. ""We have submitted the report to Deputy Superintendent of Police DSP Javed and will do as he orders us to do further. I don’t know more details,"" he said. Press club 1: "Alan Naich, general secretary of Kakkar Press Club, told PPF that we were sitting at the press club on July 1, and Asad Jamali, who is a land grabber, came to the press club along with his gang; they threatened to kill and pointed a straight gun; on us because we posted about them on social media as they are land grabbers so they threatened us to kill and broke the chairs and tables of the press club. Then we escape from the back door. On July 19, Gul Hassan Noondani, president of Kakkar Press Club, told PPF that we had posted about land grabber Jamali on our channel and also posted on social media, so he attacked the press club with 8 to 10 people and straightened the pistol on us, but we escape from the press club. Then he got angry and hung up the call, saying we don’t need your help as you guys are just seeing and doing nothing for us as he’s still threatening us and then hung up the call. "
Press club 2: "Wali Chandio, general secretary of Dadu Press Club, told PPF that the armed men attacked the press club on July 1 for posting against land grabbers, and then they attacked the press club on July 1with weapons and damaged the furniture of the press club. Sabir Bhand, president of Dadu Press Club, told PPF that the attack was carried out by unknown people. An FIR was also registered against them, but there has been no progress in this case so far. Alan Naich, general secretary of Kakkar Press Club, told PPF that we were sitting at the press club on July 1, and Asad Jamali, who is a land grabber, came to the press club along with his gang; they threatened to kill and pointed a straight gun on them because they posted about them on social media as they are land grabbers so they threatened to kill them and broke the chairs and tables of the press club. They [press club members] escaped from the back door. On July 19, Gul Hassan Noondani, president of Kakkar Press Club, told PPF that they had posted about land grabber Jamali on their channel and also posted on social media, so he attacked the press club with 8 to 10 people and pointed a pistol on them, but they escaped from the press club. Then he got angry and hung up the call, saying they don’t need your help as you guys are just seeing and doing nothing for us as he’s still threatening us and then hung up the call. "
