"On July 4, a young journalist Manahil Sarfaz from Gujranwala was met with extreme backlash threats, and harassment online when her video highlighting the social issues of society was uploaded on social media. “I was so afraid after receiving the negative and threating messages of people that even my friends started trolling me for my story. After seeing the situation “i immediately asked the admin of page to turn off comments section and delete the comments for my safety”. Manahil admits, “I had no idea what to do about it as I was not aware of any safety tools or how to report about it and where to. So only thing I could do was to request the admin of the page to turn off comments section. If we journalists do not know what to do in such situations, then what could be the situation of common people” Manahil recalls, how that incident had also an impact on her decision-making ability that she even thought about to stop doing such kind of stories."
