Summary of Case

"Anchorperson of Bol news, Sami Ibrahim was attacked in the Federal Capital's Melody Market area near his office by unidentified persons on July 9, 2022. According Sami, a transgender person asked him for money, and as he was giving it to them, meanwhile that person started shouting “You abuse us” and pushed on Sami’s chest. The other masked man started surrounded and tortured Sami besides making video of the matter from his mobile. “The act was planned to portray the incident as I was misbehaving with transgender to damage my image and planned to arrest me”, Sami mentioned in his video message explaining the details of the attack. Sami was managed to escape from the scene and entered in his office. Ghulam Murtaza, bureau chief of Bol News told PPF that Sami was going back to his home when some assailants attacked him. Application of the incident was registered within half an hour of incident. Aabpara police station and Bol News office share walls, the police reacted immediately and demanded CCTV footage and pictures of the attackers which channel provided them but no further action was taken by authorities. It was a pre-planned attack and attackers have detailed information about Sami, they even know that Sami has heart related issues so they attacked on exactly there, Murtaza added. Responding to the question, Murtaza added that channel has no security guards on ground floor but have on the 2nd floor – the office of Bol News."
