"On Feb 23, 21 Federal Investigation Agency arrested GTV sohbatpur reporter Abdul Jabbar Umrani outside Quetta Press Club under controversial PECA law. The journalist, according to FIA, was arrested after a government official lodged complaint against him under the PECA law after the journalist uploaded some content to his Facebook page.

On May 17, 21, President of Baluchistan Union of Journalist Mr. Salman Ashraf told PPF that Abdul Jabbar Umrani is not associated with any media house right now, he is a social activist, He has been charged on allegation of character assassination.

On Mar 26, 21, Speaking to PPF Mr. Jabbar Umrani said that I reported a news against DSP Yousuf Bangar that He is involved in corruption. Mr. Yousuf filed Prosecution against me. Whenever court or cybercrime called me I attended every hearing. On 6-March, 2021 I went to Quetta for hearing as hearing was on 7 Mar, 2021, I stayed in Quetta Press Club. Cybercrime officer called me for some letter work, I informed him about my exact location then FIA’s team came there and arrested me, On a next day court checked my record and honorably acquitted me, as well as expressed anger at the FIA"
