Summary of Case

"On 22 Oct, 2021 The 24 News TV channel team was covering the protest at Faizabad Interchange when the police party, led by Inspector Mazhar Siyal, attacked it. The policemen tortured the cameraman Nafees Arain and also snatched his mobile phone.

Journalist Nafees Arain told PPF that he was covering Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP)'s protest using his mobile phone's camera. Two police officials one in police uniform and other in plain clothes came to his side and snatched his mobile and threatened him to not make video. Nafees introduced himself to them but they denied to return his mobile after that Nafees went to DIG operation and SSP office for recovery of his cell phone.

On 26-Oct-21 journalist Nafees Arain told PPF that He had given application for FIR in I 9 police station Islamabad to SHO Adeel Shoukat but he denied to file FIR and said that we had apologized to you so why you came here to registered FIR.

On 26-Oct-21 SHO Adeel Shoukat told PPF that journalist Nafees Arain came in station and request for FIR but we have not filed FIR but receive his application and doing inquiry."
