Summary of Case
"Local reporter of Dharti TV Abdul Rahman from Sangarh was threatened by a political member of the Pakistan People’s Party Farman Chandio for posting news against him on his Facebook profile, Farman threatened Chandio in which he said that he would kill Rahman if he would not stop publishing such news. Chandio threatened Rahman on August 21 via video. FIR has not been registered in this regard. On August 23, Abdul Rahman shared that on August 21, a prominent member of PPP Farman Chandio gave life threats to Rahman for posting news against him and asked Rahman to delete his post. “I did not register a case against Chandio as I am aware that he has strong enough connections to kill me, I have just posted news regarding the corruption of DC regarding the government jobs” Rahman added. President of the Regional Union of Journalists and former President of Sangarh Press Club Bilal Qureshi shared with PPF that Rahman identified the corruption of political party members in the city after which he was seriously threatened by Farman Chandio via video. Rahman Burdi did not publish the news on Dharti TV. Sangarh Press Club President Muhammad Mubeen told PPF that no one has informed the press club about such a case. A freelance journalist from Sangarh, Muhammad Ali told PPF that the case is related to journalism as Rahman identified the corruption in DC’s office Sangarh after which PPP’s prominent member Farman Chandio threatened Rahman.
