Summary of Case

"On Oct 23rd, 2020 Senior journalist Faiz Muhammad Buledi, working for K21 News as bureau chief “received threats” from Salim Bajari, private secretary to Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, after the journalist aired some reports about alleged corrupt practices by the secretary.

The private secretary approached police officials to register some cases against Buledi but police refused to register “fake cases” against the journalist who was informed of the plot the private secretary was designing against him.

Speaking to Pakistan Press Foundation, Mr.Faiz Muhammad Buledi said that he received threat call from Mr. Saleem Bajari who is the private secretary of Chief Minister Sindh Mr. Murad Ali Shah after he on aired the story of HST school teacher Qurban Ali’s suspension by Mr. Saleem Bajari.

According to him Mr. Saleem misused his power and suspend a loyal teacher just because he protested against Sindh government.

Threatening call from Mr. Saleem was about abduction, killing and to create harms to him and his family.

He sent legal notice to Mr. Bajari, application for action to Inspector General of Police Sindh and also submitted application in Karachi Press Club. Karachi Press Club protested for his rights. However, no strict action from any department was taken.

President Karachi Press Club Mr. Imtiaz told PPF that Faiz was threatened for his work, KPC protested and matter was resolved later. "
