Summary of Case
"On July 1, 2022 Journalist Idrees Abbasi was covering cattle market and preparing the news report on cattle market when former minister Qasim suri's guards harassed DSNG of GNN. On August 26, 2022 GNN reporter Idrees Abbasi told PPF that he was on his routine’s work and on July 2, 2022 he went to cattle market in Islamabad along with his team and when they reached there were the cars of former minister Qasim Shah Suri and his guards asked the way out and there was only one road he said we were giving him way the guards came and started violence and they beat the whole team of GNN. Idrees was covering the news along with his cameraman Awais Abdullah and DSNG driver. He also filed FIR against the guards of Former minister Idrees Abbasi but now the case has been closed. And there was no arrest by police. The Number of FIR is 869/22. PPF is also trying to contact GNN's Bureau Chief but he is not responding. On August 26, 2022 ASI Akhtar Nawaz of police station Naseerabad told PPF that the matter of Journalist was sorted out by both the parties former minister's guards apologized with the journalist and he backed off from the case. and in court their case was also closed."
