"On June 21, 2023 police officials raided the residence of journalist Sabir Shakir in Islamabad and registered another case on Sabir Shakir. The case was registered by inspector Ashiq Ali Munawwar in Kohsar police station Islamabad under sections AO 13/20/65. According to Shakir, threats which he received was from unidentified person and he threatened Shakir and advised him to stay neutral in his vlogs, he also told that he did not file any lodge any complaint over this issue and police is harassing his family in Pakistan through such raids. “When they know I’m not in Pakistan then what is the purpose of harassing my family and putting baseless allegation, apparently they found a gun from my house and they registered another case on me which unfair and baseless, I need justice and support in this regard from the journalistic bodies to stop this fascism” Shakir added. . Speaking to PPF Shakir informed that he did not lodge any counter FIR in this and there is no plan of hiring any legal representative for this issue. Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists strongly condemned the raid on the residence of Sabir Shakir and claimed that the raid was fictitious and fabricated. "
